Who we work with
Our Training and Vetting Partners
A small number of partners, chosen because crew and owners actually benefit from them.
SALT Services
An MCA accredited STCW training provider based in Edinburgh, Scotland. SALT delivers education and practical training with current equipment, covering the basic safety training every crew member needs before joining a yacht.
Seas The Day
Superyacht training partner. Crew registering here can access training and interview preparation designed specifically for yachting rather than adapted from shore recruitment.
Training matters at both ends of the market: entry-level crew need STCW and an ENG1 before anyone will consider them, and senior crew need certification to progress. More on training and certification.
Axtell Food Safety
Food safety training, covering the Level 2 certification interior and galley crew need before they can handle food on board.
CrewPass
Background verification. CrewPass checks are used as part of candidate screening, which is increasingly expected by yachts and management companies as standard rather than as an optional extra.
Why the list is short
Most crew agencies carry a long page of partners because each one is a referral arrangement. This list is four names because those are the four that come up in real conversations with crew: where to do your STCW, where to get food safety certified, and how to prove you are who your CV says you are.
Nobody appears here for paying to. If a partner stopped being useful to the people being placed, they would come off the page.
What crew actually need, and when
Before your first job you need STCW basic safety training and an ENG1 medical, and nothing else is mandatory. Powerboat Level 2 comes next if you are going into deck, and food safety certification if you are going into interior or galley.
Everything beyond that should wait until you know which department you are in and which direction you want to go. Buying a bundle of six courses before your first season is the most common way new crew waste money. More on what is worth paying for.
For owners and management companies
Background verification is the part of this list that matters on the hiring side. Certificates can be checked directly with the issuing body, references are taken by phone with previous captains rather than read off a page, and CrewPass covers the identity and record checks that sit behind both.
That combination is what makes a reference meaningful rather than a formality. How the screening process works.
Working with us as a partner
We keep the list short deliberately. If you run training, verification or crew services that genuinely help the people we place, get in touch.
